Colin Naidoo, Manager of Communica-
tions & Brand of Durban Airport, shows
off one of its two Border Collies. Durban
is the first commercial airport in the
world to have introduced a Border Collie
programme, which has been set up for
the dogs to be used as bird scarers.
anna.aero’s Assistant Editor Jonathan
Ford finally lives his childhood dream
of being Fireman Sam as he sits in the
driver’s seat of one of Durban Airport’s
Rosenbauer’s. Unfortunately for Ford, his
driving licence, and insurance, does not
permit him testing the beast of a machine
on Durban’s airside Tarmac.
Delegates who went on the airport tour
were given the opportunity to have a ride
in one of two Rosenbauer fire trucks. The
demonstration of water arch’s technol-
ogy was also shown to passengers on the
airport’s cargo apron.
Melina Khong, Senior Associate of Corporate & Marketing Com-
munications, Changi Airport Group, was given a spin around the
airfield in one of the airport’s rapid responder buggies.
Sherman Pun, Assistant Manager of Corporate & Marketing Com-
munications, Changi Airport Group, and Ivan Tan, SVP of Corpo-
rate & Marketing Communications, are shown around one of
Durban Airport’s Rosenbauer fire engines.
